The Materials Book

White-Line Fever: Road paint can replace signs and fences far from the highway Road-marking paint is extremely robust, withstanding years of traffic, rain, snow, and sunshine. With its various colors and ability to reflect sun and artificial light, it offers a host of design possibilities. While it’s not particularly sustainable in itself, those properties mean it can reduce material consumption by replacing certain types of constructed infrastructure such as signs or fences. Example: Preco Kryl road-marking paint by Triflex, seen at Berlinische Galerie, Berlin Contributed by: Kuehn Malvezzi Architects, Germany 348
